Artwork 3FBC: Firebreak is a 3-player cooperative first-person shooter set within the enigmatic Federal Bureau of Control (FBC). As the Bureau’s headquarters faces a deadly and prolonged siege by otherworldly forces, only Firebreak—its most adaptable response unit—has the skills and courage to restore order.
Budget figures conflict in the public record: Wikipedia cites an April 2024 figure of EUR 25 million, while later reporting on Remedy's investor materials (GamingBolt, Game World Observer, GameSpot) gives EUR 30 million. The EUR 30 million figure is used here as the more recent and more widely corroborated one, and it is flagged as an estimate because Remedy's own investor PDF was not directly verifiable. Commercially the game failed: over 1 million players by 26 June 2025, but Steam concurrents collapsed to under 200 within weeks, Metacritic sat at 64-66 with only 24% of critics recommending it, Remedy took a EUR 14.9 million write-down, and CEO Tero Virtala stepped down in October 2025. Standalone price was $39.99, cut permanently to $19.99 in March 2026. It launched day one on PC and Xbox Game Pass and the PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium catalogue simultaneously, so the player figure includes many who never paid for it.
