Artwork 11Detroit: Become Human is an interactive narrative adventure game developed by Quantic Dream and released in 2018. Set in a near-future Detroit where androids serve humans, the story follows three android protagonists—Kara, Connor, and Markus—who shape the city’s fate through their choices. Gameplay combines exploration, dialogue interactions, and quick-time events, with branching storylines and multiple endings. The narrative explores themes of artificial intelligence, freedom, and morality.
Budget figure ("un budget d'une trentaine de millions d'euros") comes from Le Monde's January 2018 profile of the studio. Sales grew steadily long after launch: 1 million units in two weeks, 1.5 million players in two months, past 5 million after the December 2019 Steam release ended a one-year Epic Games Store exclusivity, and 15 million by January 2026. NPD recorded launch sales more than 20% above Heavy Rain's. Steam list price $39.99. Estimated gross ~$375M (15M units x ~$25 blended price across eight years of console and PC pricing); excludes discounts, refunds, regional pricing and the ~30% platform cut — not an official figure.
