Screenshot 9As Dusk Falls is an original interactive drama from INTERIOR/NIGHT that explores the entangled lives of two families across thirty years. Starting in 1998 with a robbery-gone-wrong in small town Arizona, the choices you make have a powerful impact on the characters’ lives in this uncompromising story of betrayal, sacrifice and resilience. Drive the lives and relationships of multiple characters in a decades-spanning story told across two intense books.
No development budget has ever been disclosed, and no funding round into INTERIOR/NIGHT is publicly recorded — the game was financed through publishing deals (Sega, signed January 2018 and cancelled July 2019, then Xbox Game Studios). Production-scale proxies from Microsoft's own feature: the core team grew from 6 to about 50 people plus roughly 50 external contributors, the script runs 1,200 pages (~12 hours of content), and over 15,000 frames were individually hand-painted. No official sales or player figure exists — the game launched day one on Xbox Game Pass (19 July 2022), the first Xbox-published exclusive to do so since Halo Infinite, which makes copies sold a poor measure of its reach. Hard numbers: Steam list price $29.99 (¥4,840 in Japan), an all-time Steam peak of just 300 concurrent players against an all-time Twitch peak of 66,683 viewers, and 4,394 Steam reviews at 87% positive. The owner range above spans three different third-party models (VG Insights ~132k, Gamalytic ~146k, PlayTracker ~382k) — the spread itself is a reason to treat all of them as soft. Added to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog in October 2025. A separate Original Soundtrack DLC sells for $9.99.
